I had that same thought before joining ebates myself. Then I realized, if I am going to make the purchase, I might as well get something out of it. Even if it is only 3%, it adds up

I agree. I were making small purchases now and than. It's all added up at the end. Unless you do not like free money. Like billydunwood and AVD has said. OK lets say you have bought PS3 or Xbox, and some games or some hardware on Newegg or eBay so do not tell me it does not add up. Oedipus and jadinolf

I'm just waiting for a rant to appear, dissing them for changing their terms and conditions and boning you in the process. Going by your posting history, you have to be one of the unluckiest consumers on the planet.

How about trying a "rewards" credit card instead of Ebates?

I can't afford CC at the moment. This is why i am using online rebates programs.

some people don't have credit or can't qualify. Some have annual fees, all have interest rates. But a lot of them are good credit cards

Of course there are people who can't qualify.
My CITI Rewards card has no annual fee.
They all have an interest rate.
It was merely a suggestion that Oleg See Profile could consider.

I completely understood, and wasn't trying to be mean. I was just saying some people don't qualify or don't want a credit card for those reasons.

Oleg; why would I presume that you couldn't qualify for a credit card or didn't want a credit card because you use Ebates?

Lightweights!

I think Topcashback is much better if only because they give the full payout paid by the merchants. Sites like ebates take a cut of the percentage and give you the rest.

In addition to ebates, there are also upromise.com, fatwallet.com. I've used all three. It depends on who give the highest cash back and what participating merchants they have.

One time I have to use ebates, because I was making a reservation for Holiday Inns. Back then only ebates have Holiday Inn.

Upromise, couple of year ago was giving up to 20% on Apple products. Back then when iPad was hot item, I was able to get 20% cash back rebate.

I use fatwallet more often since they have forums and is more convenient.

For those asking why not use a CC. These cash back program is click through. Meaning you still get your CC reward points/cash back AND the cash back. While it's not substantial, it adds up. $1000 cash back since 2006 is pretty good.

Oh... since this is broadband, last August (2012), I switched my parents dsl/directv to Verizon FIOS. Clicked through Fatwallet.com's Verizon Broadband link, I got $45 cash back.

I qualify for credit cards, I have several, and I still use Ebates among other rebate sites.....(Ebates doesn't always have the best rates.)
