Re: Dd anyone notice new firmware update? (DVR) said by dvrcloud :So I decided I would start manually adding recordings in, and as soon as I took the steps to record a series, a window popped up asking if I wanted to restore my series from the cloud, and it worked perfectly. Exactly, there is no menu item for importing the series recordings from the cloud. I found this out when google sent me to another Verizon forum but there is no way you'd ever figure this out on your own unless, as you did, you started the process of recreating series recordings.
A very useful feature implemented in a very strange way. |

 | reply to Miataman This is a pain. What idiot menu designer separated them like that? I hope they put them back the way they were. Is there anyone we can contact about that? |
|
 | reply to LL NY Yes, Scheduled recordings being so far away is really bad... VZ please change this . the set once & forget "Settings" is front & center, while scheduled recordings is relatively is buried ... ??? |

| reply to LL NY Is this a FW update or just a rewording of the menus? Last time VZ did a FW update it really messed up one box at my parents house. After all the treaties were signed after WW III broke out we finally got things working again. I do not think I could deal with that again... |

O1OOO1O join:2005-12-23 Lewisville, TX | Looks like just a DVR menu re-order, I see no changes in loaded firmware (25.39) or loaded app (14.47) [at least for myself in VHO1].
When I launch the DVR menu, the highlighted option is View Recordings, and instead of Scheduled Recordings sitting right underneath it - it has been moved all the way to the top of the menu. Refresh Devices has been moved down a couple slots also. |

 | reply to LL NY I noticed this menu order change a couple days ago and the thing that really bothers me is the placement of "Scheduled Recordings". It's now at the top of the list and takes extra time to get there.
Verizon is now starting to force feed their ads that appear every Friday when you press the DVR button for the first time. The button delay is up to 20 seconds and then you have to press EXIT to kill the ads before getting to the DVR menu.
Come on Verizon. We don't want no stinkin' ads |

That can be turned off in Settings. |

 | reply to LL NY I've noticed another change. When in the On demand section viewing New Releases I press the options button to change the sort order. Pressing Options now shows Filters and Sorting in one menu. |

For example I show Cold Creek Manor is free for the HD yet SD is $9.99. |

crgauth join:2004-05-18 Glen Burnie, MD | reply to LL NY If my memory serves me correctly, the scheduled recording menu item was 1 button away from the recorded shows. All you have to do on the new menu is hit the channel up button. Skips all the way to the top. One click away as before. |

 | Crgauth - thanks for the helpful hint!! Will use it.
However, yes - whoever changed this menu up wasn't really thinking!!!! |

| The only settings you can export are "series" settings, and yes, if you re-export them, they do overwrite the originals. You will only be able to import when you attach a replacement DVR, and try to create a series. -- "My hat, my cane, Jeeves". |

ZNYGUY join:2005-01-06 Lake Grove, NY | reply to Miataman So if I export everything to the cloud and replace my DVR, when I go to record a series that I had exported I will be asked if I want to import ALL exported series or just the one that I am trying to record? Just need to know this before I replace my DVR this week. Importing everything would be ideal. Only importing the one series would be a stupid design. |
