Georgia

I live in Georgia i have one Monopoly in this area Cable COX Communications, Slow service 45/10

Wind-stream is in my area price-lock 12mb,

internet in the USA is getting to be very expensive, in Germany the Internet for 100MB dowload is $38USD.

I have to go back to Germany for 2 weeks to have 1GIG Fiber line ran to the house. $60 Per month NO CAPS.

Re: Georgia

Either you are wrong or there is another form of subsidization involved. Internet simply cannot be delivered that cheaply.

The same people love to demand unlimited Internet for free also want to see the union workers get paid more. Huh? This doesn't make sense.

The ROI on $100/month Internet service is > 5 - 7 years. By that time, it'll have to be rebuilt again.

After that its 39.90 about $42.00 USD. Me am paying for 46/10 $70.00 Internet in Europe is CHEAP.

Sorry to tell you they're doing it right we just wanna have Monoploys in this country that Destroy Competition, in my area Cox Communications is the Giant in this area there's nothing else.

I pay for TV 25.00 a month for this OK now under Directv for exactly the Same channels $4.00. guess why because of Directv has Competition the reason cox charges so much for TV is because of no competition.. this brings better service and prices.
If Cox Communications thinks their service is good let Competition in here.I will disconnect my TV in 5 months am sick of the high prices from them.also if my Internet goes to $78 i will disconnect that and go with another provider which will be DSL.

The ISP I work for provides thousands of FTTH customers with 50Mbps for $50 in Georgia. Things change when fiber is involved.

Re: Georgia

The "free" 5/1 Google Fiber service service is interesting also. If you pay only the $300 installation fee up front, you get 5Mbps download and 1Mbps upload for 7 years(84 months). That works out to be $3.57 per month or about $0.12 per day. No data caps. You can also pay the $300 off over 12 months at $25/month during the first 12 months of service.
