Gem Premium join:2005-09-10 kudos:2	[WIN8] two desktop.ini files on W8 desktop with same file names How does this happen? There are two "desktop.ini" files on my desktop with the same file names, but different file sizes. One is 88kb while the other is 206kb.

If you want and do not use file sharing, you can turn it off and delete both files, on reboot only the user desktop.ini is created. dave Premium,MVM join:2000-05-04 not in ohio kudos:8 1 edit	reply to Gem One is \users\yourlogin\desktop\desktop.ini and the other is \users\public\desktop\desktop.ini. The displayed 'desktop' is the union of those two file system directories.
