[WIN7] Will Installing MSE Turn On MS Automatic Updates?

I'm running a Win 7 64 bit Home Premium machine. I have MS Updates set where I want it, which is where I choose to download them and install them.

I remember having the same setting as above once and then installing Office Word 2007. It asked me if I wanted to keep Word updated, and I checked yes. That changed my setting, turned on MS Automatic Updates, and then downloaded and installed some updates that I did not want.

I'm planning on installing MSE. I know that it must update. My question is, will installing MSE change my MS Update settings to update automatically? Thanks.

MSE has it's own (internal updater), usually runs once a day. There are occasional "optional" upgrades to the MSE engine that are offered via patch updates, so you should check the optional patches offered each month. I'm using MSE on Win7 x64 Ult. and haven't had any problems. I also use the same settings as you for my update management.
