The Preparing for PvP In 5.2 blog post was updated to reflect that the new Malevolent Gladiator's gear in Patch 5.2 that is purchased with Honor is of lower item level than the current Malevolent Gladiator's gear. The new items are new versions of the gear, so the reduced item level should not affect items purchased before the patch. "
They just updated the PVP post to say the new honor is a lower ilvl but has more PVP power and RESIL. I still have not seen the gear yet so i dont know if they lowered base stats too or just the ilvl. Either way it looks like the new honor gear will still be better than the current malv gear. |

In the original post they said the new honor gear would be a higher ilvl.
Blizz updated it to say the gear will be a lower ilvl but boosted stats. |

Patch 5.2 - Cross-Realm Patch 5.0 Raids
Ghostcrawler confirmed that the old Patch 5.0 raids will all be cross-realm once Patch 5.2 is live.

Essentially the gear will be better for PvP and worse for PvE.
