 | reply to curvenut TekSavvy is a wholesaler that "piggybacks" off of the "big brother's" network infrastructure for the last mile wiring to your home. The key difference is that TekSavvy purchases such service from companies like Videotron directly in large enough quantities that they get a discount. In turn, this discount is then passed down to its end consumers.
I wouldn't doubt at all that greed plays into it lol |

It's good to know that there are companies out there who believe in ethics. |
|
 | Yeah ... to be more ethics, internet access should be free too ! |
|
 | That would be nice, but I'm not sure if that would be realistically possible. |

1 edit | reply to curvenut Videotron has messed up both Cable Internet and Wireless New entrants with their lack of competitive packages.
They are content with absorbing Bell customers who are so angry that they don't mind paying the same price for less gigabytes, as long as they more reliability and better customer service.
It creates a scenario where Cable Internet is used by those with light needs and the very rich, but is otherwise not an attractive offering at all.
Fortunately the independents are stepping in.. |
