kudos:2 | New modem firmware pushed. Was just looking over my modem logs, from the downtime last night, and noticed it has a brand new firmware.

It was from like 2009 before this.

| Gator, I didn't know you had an D3 Arris modem. When did you get that? I always thought you had a Motorola SurfBoard D3 modem. Do you like the Arris D3 modems better than Motorola? Does the Arris D3 modem do downstream channel bonding also like my Motorola D3 modem does? |

I got the Arris when I got the 2nd 50/3 line. When I dropped the 2nd, and kept just 1, I just decided to keep the Arris online instead of the moto.
They are both D3 modems, I think they both can do 4 down and 4 up.
I don't really like one over the other, just happened to be the way I kept my setup.

| When I got home I rebooted my modem and it downloaded new software twice. Started with the one from 2009, then to 2010 and then the 2012 version. I've noticed since the update that i'm only getting 20-23mb down and 0.5-1mb up when I would normally get 30-33mb down and always 2mb up. Its like its reverted to when I had the 20mb plan, even though I have the 30mb.

Gator, I didn't even know Arris had D3 modems out. But doesn't your Arris D3 modem have telephone ports for phone service though like the ones that Suddenlink provides us with? Also, does your Arris D3 modem have blue lights for downstream channel bonding like it does on my Motorola SB D3 modem? |

No, it does not have any telephone stuff. And no, it has no light to indicate bonding channels, or if it does, I've not noticed what they are. I bought this modem from SL though, it just happened to be what they had at the moment.

Yeah. They started giving out new Arris modems that can do 8 channels instead of the 4. For whatever reason, my Netgear router does not see the arris modem as gigabit, the port negotiates much slower so I had to start using the D3 Motorola modem. |

The arris D3 modem we have has gigabit ethernet ports and my router reflects that. Also it does have a light for channel bonding. If its bonded the downstream light turns orange. When there is 1 channel it is green. |

It bugs the crap out of me, that the orange light is always blinking, unless the link is down. Ahh so thats how it works. I've never not had a D3 link with that modem.
