[OS X] 10.5.8I am trying to upgrade this box I have at work to Moutain Lion but I couldn't, so I was told I needed Lion but it still says I can't? What can I upgrade to? |

it's all going to depend on what hardware you have. Regardless though you will need to upgrade to Snow Leopard (10.6) before Lion or Mt Lion. |

I think you need to put Snow Leopard on it first and then Lion if you want to upgrade. |

You're able to go directly from Snow to ML. But you do need Snow. |

MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)

Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)
Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory

It can be hacked.......there is a hack out there for pre 64 bit EFI Intel Mac's.......but, i wouldn't bother.....ML...and to a lesser extent Lion NEED at least 3-4GB of RAM to even function.....and some early Intel Mac's will (can) onlu use 2GB max.....or 3 if you are lucky..... |
