Re: Three season room to four season room (cont.)

It's just Home Depot stuff. All of the trim is. The only thing that isn't are the baseboards. We bought that at a now defunct lumber store. But you can get the profile almost anywhere. So there's nothing terribly unique going on.

Thanks. It's far better than the old screened in three season room that we started with. Once the contractor is completely done, I'm going to order the TV and put up the speakers. That should then do it.

I seem to recall you saying the wife will claim it as her room for biz... Have you renegotiated?

Yeah, well I think she's losing her grip on it. It's still her room, but the kids and the cats love it as well. Once the TV and surround sound go in, I have a feeling that the wife will only be able to enjoy it while the kids are in school and I'm at work. After that it's going to get invaded.

Hey Goober, that turned out very nice. I would love a room like that. We have a patio behind our house that I hope one day to enclose into a 3 season room with a wood stove. These pictures motivate me. First, though, my garage/shop out back.

It's pretty never-ending. Maybe it's human nature to just keep going.

I wish I had a nice shop. I have to cram my tools into a full two car garage or a portion of the basement. And we don't have any room on which to expand. Makes working on stuff really hard.

Same here. We have an attached 24x24' garage. And I have an 8x12' garden shed. My wife's van barely fit in the garage during the winter, squeezed in with the motorcycles, snowblower, tons of kids toys and bikes, my work bench and tool chests, wood working tools and saws, etc. The garden shed was not just wanted, it was needed, as everything doesn't fit in the garage.

All this means I don't have room in the garage for projects or even vehicle maintenance.

Yeah, I think the value of extra garage space is vastly underrated. There's a house down the street that built on an additional two car garage for housing a workshop and a small office. Pretty fancy looking, since it was done in a connected gazebo style. The luxury of being able to spread out and work makes me jealous.

When I had our garage built last year I did it as big as possible. It's 1" from the setback. I knew bigger was better but the wife fought me the whole way. Now that it's done she loves it.

We're on a court and our lot is a bit wedge shaped. So we're pretty much unable to expand. For a while that almost drove us to moving. In the end, we stayed, but miss a bigger garage. When we built our shed, too, we undersized it and now regret it. Live and learn, I guess.

Waiting for the weather to get better. By the way, those cans better have dead chipmunks in them if you're going to throw them into the neighbors yard. That, or dog shit.
