Re: Unlimited Internet option on Rogers for a limited time Has anyone successfully adding the $10 unlimited special to the old 75Mbps Ultimate plan? That's what I'm currently on and Rogers keeps telling me that it's not possible to add it. |

That's what I'm currently on and Rogers keeps telling me that it's not possible to add it. Not possible. They are not adding anything, it's an entirely new package. In other words they're not adding a $10 or $30 add-on to your current package.
The only Unlimited Ultimate package currently available is the 150/10 package for $152.99/month pre discount/taxes. The Hitron modem ($8/month) is needed to get this package. |
|
 | Why is it $152.99? The base 150/10 package is $122.99, so it should only be $132.99 with unlimited (I have cable, internet and phone). |

caca join:2012-11-19 Kitchener, ON | reply to RogersElise they won`t do it for $10 on that tier they will only do it for $30 if you want to only pay $10 you have to drop to slower speed |

 | It doesn't say that anywhere on their site though. It says "Now you can add unlimited internet to any package too!" and lists two options: $10 with cable/internet/phone bundle or $30 for the service alone.
They even call out that their internet speeds are up to 150Mbps, implying the deal applies to that tier as well.

In assessing the truthfulness and accuracy of a message, advertising claim or representation under Clause 1 of the Code the concern is not with the intent of the sender or precise legality of the presentation. Rather the focus is on the message, claim or representation as received or perceived, i.e. the general impression conveyed by the advertisement.
(a) Advertisements must not contain inaccurate, deceptive or otherwise misleading claims, statements, illustrations or representations, either direct or implied, with regard to any identified or identifiable product(s) or service(s).
(b) Advertisements must not omit relevant information in a manner that, in the result, is deceptive.
(c) All pertinent details of an advertised offer must be clearly and understandably stated.
(d) Disclaimers and asterisked or footnoted information must not contradict more prominent aspects of the message and should be located and presented in such a manner as to be clearly visible and/or audible.
(e) Both in principle and practice, all advertising claims and representations must be supportable. If the support on which an advertised claim or representation depends is test or survey data, such data must be reasonably competent and reliable, reflecting accepted principles of research design and execution that characterize the current state of the art. At the same time, however, such research should be economically and technically feasible, with due recognition of the various costs of doing business.
(f) The advertiser must be clearly identified in an advocacy advertisement.

 | I just got told by Rogers that their advertisement for the unlimited promotion will be changed soon to reflect that it does not apply to the Ultimate package. When saying that I would move my services to Bell, since I can get their 175Mb/s service at the same price with unlimited, they didn't even try to stop me. Looks like I'm going to Bell. |

 | said by Satya:not even for 30 dollars per month? as standalone? They will offer it for $30/month, but that's not what is stated in their promotion.
I've filed complaints with Advertising Standards Canada, CRTC and CCTS. I don't expect anything to come of it, but Rogers needs to stop lying to their customers. |

 | Thank you SO MUCH for posting this.
I was just browsing Google looking for how to cancel my contract without any Fees and I came upon this POST.
I have all 3 services and called Rogers and they upgraded me to unlimited.
No need to switch to Teksavvy or Acanac now. I am completely happy.
Total for services 135$/M incl tax

 | reply to RogersElise Hey,
I was curious if anyone who doesn't meet the $10 requirement has been able to get this package for anything less than $30 dollars?
I have been going back and forth on taking this package but it would mean that I would have to go with the $30 dollar option since I only have Wireless and Internet with Rogers. I am not interested in their other services.
Cheers |

Cheers It's not possible.
If you're not already getting a promotion you can speak to retention to see if you're eligible for one. The promotion will discount the internet tier to offset the $30 cost. |
|
 | Hey,
Thanks for the response. That is a good idea I never thought to see if they could discount my current package.
I sort of figured you wouldn't be able to get it on the $30 additional charge but wanted to be sure.
Thanks again!

FWIW, I called and ordered Rogers cable tv last week. I also asked about internet, thinking just have them both with Rogers and get one bill. The CSR would not budge on the usage. At all. Not even 1 GB. The offer was 150. I said I needed 300. CSR said $30 for unlimited. I said I was ordering TV, I just need 300 and I'll order internet too. CSR said $30 for unlimited. The extra 150GB I was asking for would have cost them $3 a month, which I would have been happy to pay for.
Modem from Start Communications arrived today.
Rogers = complete idiots. They know not what they do.

Mike For the best deals you have to speak with the retention reps as mentioned like a million times on these forums; the general reps will not give those kinds of deals. Also depends on the willingness of the reps, but here on these forums there was no one who was rejected for 70% and 80% off deals for internet. So I'd say you should speak with a retention rep and check out what there are giving out before you jump the gun. |

I don't jump through hoops to do business with the likes of Rogers. It's only out of sheer necessity and lack of choice that they got my TV business. Start was happy to get my business and I didn't have to kiss their ass for $2 worth of usage.

That's how I got the 70% off deal as well, I was with teksavvy for internet and cable with rogers and I just called them asked them to transfer me to retention; I just bluntly asked for the 70% off internet; it was a new activation as well. One month later I cancelled teksavvy...I'm not sure what you are talking about. Maybe they don't give discounts to new accounts but if you already have an account then I don't think it should be an issue; I assumed dillyhammer already has an account open with rogers. |
