Are all those IP addresses correct then in the log? Subnet, Gateway, DHCP server, DNS server?
Did you turn off UPNP recently due to the router UPNP exploit of late?

Mele20Premium join:2001-06-05 Hilo, HI kudos:4 | reply to Oleg Is it an older Linksy router? My Linksy router has been generating those errors since I got it Nov 2003. I have tons of them in XP event viewer. Not so many in Win 8 but that is because Event Viewer is structured better there.
If it is an older Linksy router then the errors are totally meaningless. Ignore them. The older Linksy routers are notorious for not being able to handle DHCP very well. If you visit our Linksy forum and go back 6-8 years to when the BEFSR41 (in various versions) was very popular you'll find a number of threads complaining about the errors.
Are you on business RR? As far as I know all residential RR is still dynamic IP. -- When governments fear people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. Thomas Jefferson |

If that is the case, then you have no control over the DHCP server, which is probably set to a longer response timeout than most home DHCP servers. In that case basically ignore that message altogether. |

• IP Address • Subnet Mask • Gateway IP Address • DNS Servers
Setting up RG with static IP address.
No DHCP server should be necessary; I just entered the data in the proper fields of a residential gateway. But my question remains: Why does your Windows configuration show this unnecessary DHCP server? -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

OlegBellsouth FastaccessPremium join:2003-12-08 Birmingham, AL kudos:2 1 edit | I think the problem was that i have not configured the setting for a static IP. It was set to "Obtain IP address automatically". This is why i was getting errors in the even viewer "not able to renew its address", it was trying to renew the IP address, but it was unable to, because a static IP stays the same at all times. |
