Thermostat

HELP!!!! I am trying to install a new Hunter thermostat. I have a heat pump with Aux. I have put red-R (jumped the two r) green-G, yellow-Y, orange-O, white-A/E. However, I still have a blue and a black wire that I don't know what to do with!!! I have tried several different combinations and I can't seem to get the system to come on. Can anyone help me???

I don't suppose you wrote down what they were connected to on the OLD thermostat ?

You should check the manual of both the heat pump and the thermostat.

*** Hunter manual page 75 shows heat pump hookup. Page 11 shows mapping to existing thermostats.

Black=Common; Orange = Reversing Valve Cool ; Blue = Reversing Valve Heat »www.hunterfan.com/uploadedFiles/···2(2).pdf

+1 on that. Honeywells come with great, easy to follow instructions.

If you don't remember what it was connected to, go to the blower unit (or wherever the wires terminate) and find out for sure.
