Re: Major CRTC decision next week. - CBBsaid by bt:Previous was $2,213. That one, at least, is a huge improvement. Ya, but overall this is outrageous. Almost as bad as the UBB decision before Tony Clement "fixed" it. |

What are the new rates for Rogers? |

Wow -
Section 81 - BRAS Costs - 2013-73
"....The Commission has consequently adjusted the BRAS capacity to reflect a utilization of 20 percent, consistent with that of other incumbents. This adjustment results in a cost reduction of BRAS costs per 100 Mbps increment of approximately 83 percent."
A reduction of bandwidth costs by 83% for Bell! Did I read that right? |

Cable is no longer a viable option in Quebec, I was planning on moving to DSL this will only precipitate my move. It's ok for those without FTTN and out of DSL options but that's it. |

The CBB rates apply to Aggregated POI model, as I as know the decision wouldn't have affected TekSavvy (for Cable at least) until they went Aggregated. Doesn't look like Start will get the break it needed to offer unlimited without further raising rates. |

The real problem here is most of the pricing models for IISP's on rogers probably aren't viable any more. They will need to increase prices or decrease caps. |

I get why Bell started offering unlimited now..why did Rogers and Videotron? |
|
|
to zacsaunders
Wow... thats just crazy of them.
But then again the CRTC is paid for by Bell and Rogers, so of course they did what they wanted. |

To take back clients from the indies as they will no longer offer as attractive packages or usage caps with these new prices. By offering unlimited they sweeten the deal for those willing to jump back. |

Because Rogers and Videotron are competing with Bell...
So if Bell is competing with the indies and lowers the price/add unlimited, Rogers and Videotron have no choice but to follow Bell to compete with them. |
