Rogers wireless to drop tcp connection every 10 minutes?

Hello,

I started to use my xmpp client on my smartphone. When I'm on 3G, the connection to my server drop every 10 minutes (seem to be exactly 10 minutes). The public p address also change. This happen even when my phone stay on the table (so I'm not moving from one tower to another).

What is that crap? Is it specific to Rogers or others wireless networks also do that?

Because of that, I miss some message that are routed to my desktop client because the server failed to reach my smartphone client.

First the public ip is double natted which is a nightmare.
2ndly are you moving, or are you stationary when this happens?
Your issue could be jumping from cell tower to cell tower.

Seem like the problem is not Rogers.

I'm using Tasker. It seem to scan wifi networks one time each 10 minutes for some geolocalized tasks. I disabled it and I didn't have any disconnection in the last 15 minutes.

Sorry for the noise!
