Mary Esther, FL | Question about new router Which side should be up on the WZR-D1800H (Buffalo) Router? I have it standing down, not vertically on the two stands and want to get the max WIFI coverage.

| It's whichever way works best in your situation. Grab a copy of inSSIDer and your laptop and see which one produces the best results. |

Mary Esther, FL | I have it set to the BUFFALO on the right, and the signal drops horribly once I leave the room, this should be strong enough to cover the whole house (1500SQ)

kudos:3 | Usually, the logo and any labeling is upright and easy to read when the device is oriented as the manufacturer intended. It may work when sitting horizontal, but my guess is the device is designed to sit vertically.
To get the maximum range, the wireless transmiter should be placed as high in the air as possible, in the center of the area that needs covered.
It is also possible that there is a lot of interference from your neighbors, which is reducing the effective range of the router. |
