| I've had Youtube issues on both Comcast and AT&T U-verse. Randomly once and awhile videos would be horribly slow loading and would constantly buffer even on 240p. It's on and off though and doesn't occur too often. So it's not a AT&T specific issue I believe.

However yes I experienced it too. Sometimes doing something simple and stupid like reloading the page works! Over the weekend it took me over 5 minutes to watch a clip less than a minute long. |

Well that's what makes this so hard to troubleshoot. I've been watching 720p and 1080p files on my Chicago based Uverse line all morning and haven't been able to reproduce it. It's not a case of laziness really.
Add to that people from multiple geographic area's commenting on the issue (which generally rules out routing issues) and multiple ISP's also complaining it makes it a very hard issue to pinpoint.
Probably should start tracking the type of CPE/RG I have a 2wire 3801 and can't reproduce the issue. Some random posts have said disabling IPv6 but it was clearly for a motorola CPE.

I tried the above meteorite video and it was able to load and play before the bottom video even fully buffered.

Thank you very much. Sadly without knowing your BAN I can't verify you don't have a line issue but that pcap does show that the core issue caused by TCP packet retransmissions and dup's. That doesn't really isolate where exactly but it does help us rule out a few other possible issues.

Youtube has been sucking a lot for me lately (and I'm on FIOS!). I don't even try to watch at 1080p, and lately 720p and even 480p have been unreliable to load fast enough to watch without buffering. |
