[TV] Pixilation - DC 550D

We had a new drop put in (by Cogeco tech) and installed a DC 550D terminal.
When we plugged in the unit, we had pixilation on allot of the HD channels.
Checking connections they looked okay and I was about to return the terminal when I decided to re-activate the unit.
Once this was done, the picture was now clear. I wouldn't of think that a re-activation of the terminal would have any effect.
I have been running this way for about 4 months and the pixilation has now returned. No new drops were added and I thought this was a signal level issue.
Before I called tech support, I again tried the re-activation of the box and it worked again.
This does not sound normal and when the box is re-activated I must once again reset all its settings, i.e fav.. list, parental control etc.

Is this normal for this box?
Could it be indeed a signal level issue? If so why does a box re-activation seem to help?

Anyone else experience a similar problem?

Our DC 550D seems to be fine. No pixels. Are all the connections tight??

Since the re-activation (done it from logging in to the my cogeco site), the picture has been fine.

That's good. It sounds like the reactivation solved the problem.
