[Tomato] How accurate is bandwidth usage?

I have WRT54GL and use original Tomato firmware on it.

Just how accurate is daily bandwidth usage? Does it actually account for every byte used? Or does it sample usage every X seconds and then interpolates?

It should be to the byte. Linux networking keeps track on every interface as seen in the ifconfig command.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe PolarCloud (Tomato) wrote and contributed this bandwidth module to the community.
