IP Address Conflict

I'm setting up a new modem (Netgear 6200) from AT&T with a 6 port switch..

living room upstairs

switch switch
__________|_________ _______|___________

pc blu ray sat tv printer pc sat tv

Let's just focus on the living room connection..
I am able to get online if i connect only the pc to the switch but once i connect everything i get 169.x.x.x ip. I also get a message saying about "ip address conflict".
I had the same setup before but my modem got bad.
Is the modem the one assigning the ip to my devices or is it the switch?
Has my switch gone bad as well?

Help please...

The problem you have is that the Netgear 6200 can only assign a single private IP address.

You will need a more capable router if you want to connect more than one device simultaneously to the internet.

The switch is not bad
As graysonf posted the 6200 can only allocate one dhcp ip address.
If you know how to configure private static ip addresses on all of your devices.
Doing that on each of your devices will allow multiple devices to simultaneously access the internet.
