Rogers Express - Will I get DOCSIS 2 regardless of modem??

Hi,

If I sign up and buy a new DOCSIS 3 modem, will Rogers place me on DOCSIS 2 under the Express plan... REGARDLESS of modem??

Thanks!

He means if you buy a 3rd party D3 modem, Rogers will not provision it any faster than 10Mbps, IIRC.

You might as well buy a used SB5100 off Kijiji.

If I get a new D3 modem from Rogers, will I get 8 channels combined under the 25 mbit EXPRESS plan?

Or will I get a single channel like the old DOCSIS 2 modems?

It will lock on to all channels available.

You're placed on DOCSIS 3 if you have a DOCSIS 3, not DOCSIS 2. However, you keep the identical plan that you had with the DOCSIS 2, unless your speeds and caps were lower than advertised, which is what happens when you own a DOCSIS 2.
