VZ will only install FiOS in co-ops where the building management has applied for and signed a premesis access license and a marketing agreement. See below:
I just submitted a form as a tenant to Verizon Enhanced Communities for my building letting them know I was a shareholder and owner and wanted service.
No offense but I would recommend having some co-cop board member address them directly... And specifically ask the board if they have ever received a premises access license and marketing agreement - pretty good chances they have received it and dindn't react quickly enough or ignore it.... Verizon doesn't wait so if they miss their window it's an uphill battle (I have seen two towns around here lose out on FIOS because the stupid town board was sitting on the franchise agreement for 90 days an Verizon had given them 30 days to respond... They responed with 'ok' but it was too late - Verizon passed that town and will never come back...) -- I am addicted to speed --- Boost + speed that is ---
No I mean they responded last time after I submitted the form, but they never did anything in regards to my building.
So I'll see what they say this time around. Doesn't hurt to try again.
The application can't be made by a tenant / shareholder. It must be made by the co-op management. There are extensive legal and logistical issues that must be acted upon by the board and their lawyer.
reply to lijacobs I forward over the co-op board management information and yes I can suggest my building to them. It had a specific section in the form which specifically said Resident. It gets the ball rolling.
I did it before and they asked me for the board information and the like but they never got back to me other than asking me for additional information via email.
Perhaps they just lost the information. Our co-op board was specifically looking for cable tv/isp provider alternatives.
Hopefully FIOS gets done this time. I see on the site the sales manager has changed. Perhaps we just got lost in the shuffle.
I have no doubt the tenants want it here. In fact if we switched to Verizon, we could get the whole building on a contract with them and there wouldn't be any complaints.
