Re: GPU upgrade now, or wait for 700 series?

If you can wait and be content with what you have until around June or July, I would just sit tight and wait for the 700 series (NOT 780). You already have a 670 and that's a really nice, new card. I find the need for a 700 series GPU purchase really odd seeing as how a 670 is fantastic for majority of the games available and it isn't even a year old yet.

Despite all of this, if you still want to upgrade then consider what I said about just waiting for the 700 series... if you can.

At this point in time, these are your best options:
1) Wait a few more months
2) Buy another 670 and run an SLI setup with 2x670's

I wouldn't buy an AMD card seeing as how you already have a 670. If you're looking for more performance, you would be better off buying an additional 670 for SLI and gaining performance that way. Rather than ditching the 670 and buying an entirely different brand (AMD) when you already have your foot in the door with Nvidia and a phenomenal card to boot.

As for 700 series cards, any information about them is purely speculation at this point. Nvidia hasn't made any announcements whatsoever on what we can look forward to in regards to the 700 series. The 780 you guys are talking about is said to be a limited edition run with low quantities. So as a rule of thumb when you hear this: limited edition, limited quantities, expect it to be expensive. Speculation is putting it at over $800 with about 80% of the performance of a 690.

If you have a 670 already, me personally, wouldn't consider the 780 the card for me.

If past history of GPU prices and trends are any indication, a 780 costing ~$800-$850 at release will take about 3-5 months for any price movement, (considering competition will be nill from AMD in 2013) probably even longer.

I'm not denying the 670 is a truly great card, but I am exploring all setups, at this point though a pretty good case has been made on my current setup for another 670.
