Re: Upgraded my 2011 i7 Imac 27 today

I'll be putting a SSD in my iMac sooner rather than later. Waiting for the prices to drop a little bit more.

32 gigs of memory and 250G SSD around $400 - not a bad upgrade.....

The machine screams - the I7 is a powerhouse and now with the real fast I/O and additional memory - wow!!!!!

If you do the upgrade - dont follow the iFixit guide - they have you replacing the ODD. There is a second SATA port on the back of the logic board and the SSD fits under the ODD. The link I posted above is the best tutorial I found.
