Can anyone get the mobile website for remote DVR programming to work? Cox tech support doesn't seem to know anything about it, based on one call and two online chat sessions with them. BTW, I'm a NOVA customer of Cox.
The URL is m.cox.net/mydvr. You register a phone number and PIN using your email account and password. Then you can login with just the phone number and PIN. I used this a couple of times via my Blackberry browser, but it no longer works for me. When I try to log in I get the error message, "Invalid PIN or phone number." Using either the "Forgot your PIN" link or the Register button gives me the error message "Invalid Cox.net username or password."
I know I'm using the right username and password because they work on the Webmail site. I've been able to duplicate the problem using Chrome. When I try to go to the mobile site using Firefox I get redirected to the full MyDVR website. I've also been able to duplicate the problem using IE 7.
I suspect that at some point I put the wrong PIN in multiple times and got the account locked. I asked multiple times in my last online chat with Cox to be escalated to Tier 2, but they tech told me stupid stuff like (I'm paraphrasing) "Chrome and Firefox are unreliable, just use IE" and "if the mobile site doesn't work, just use the full site". Then he disconnected the chat. The phone support guy had no idea what I was talking about despite my telling him to search cox.com for "mydvr" which will take you this article about remote scheduling with mobile phones, »ww2.cox.com/residential/northern ··· 00000000
I'd really like to be able to remotely program the DVR using the mobile website Cox provides for that purpose. Any suggestions?
