AT&T has U-Verse in some areas, with DSL in more. In the City, RCN is another cable company. Some suburbs also have WOW cable. |

said by Karl Bode:Many of these markets will be seeing Comcast's 300 Mbps tier, though according to the source the tier is more about bragging rights than anything else -- and isn't heavily marketed to consumers. Many of these same markets won't be seeing the Performance tier boost from 12/2 Mbps to 25/4 Mbps until April or May
I was going to reboot my router and cable modem again today, but now I'll wait till sometime in May.

A current single downstream cable channel can provide about 38 Mbps max. For the Blast tier that is now being upgraded to 50 Mbps download, DOCSIS 3 is *required*. |

1 edit | reply to andyross Naperville got the bump. I had to reset the modem. My speeds are 95/22 using Xfinity speedtest. I'll post the shaperprobe in a bit.
Shaperprobe says no shaping going on. I don't see it in real world uploading and downloading either. Powerboost is now dead. -- "You lie!" Talk about an understatement, Joe. |

Just rebooted my modem (Arris TM822) and now I'm getting the faster speeds on the Boost tier. Previously I topped out around 36/5.5 Mbps. |

It's reaching the point of diminishing returns. Yeah, this whole thing gets a big eye-roll from me. I'm on Performance, have no need for 25Mbps, and would just like my price to stay under $50. I'd take a 10% cut in my bandwidth for a 10% cut on my Internet charges at this point. There ought to be something between the Really Bloody Fa$t Tier (Extreme 105) and the What A Friggin' Joke Tier (Economy Plus). I'd gladly take 12/2 at $42.95. -- If everything seems to be going well, you've obviously overlooked something. |

What should the 20/4 be going to? |

kaila join:2000-10-11 Lincolnshire, IL | reply to andyross Just moved from the old legacy Ultra tier to Extreme in the north burbs. No increases after several modem reboots and finally had to reset the modem for things to catch (SB6121).
Could be the routers packet management (Mikrotik), but so far speeds from Xfinity and Speedtest sites no better than 86/19 wired. |
