[CATV] Question about swapping out boxes

Would there be an advantage to swapping out a DCH6200 and DCT6200 for two DCX3200M boxes?

What are the advantages regarding heat and noise?

Are they more or less reliable than the ones I currently have?

Do they even carry them at the local office off Mall Boulevard?

Chat is useless because they don't have that info.

The DCX3200M uses 18 W vs 42 W for the DCH6200. So that might be around $20 a year savings in your electric bill per box. I would assume less power to use means less heat. Also it's smaller than the monstrosity the DCH6200 is.

Yep, the DCX3200M is a nice little box. I never noticed that much heat from mine. It's dead quiet too and has a lot more recording space. But the best thing I ever did was turn in all my boxes and switch to the Ceton InfiniTV. That saves me (and would save you) about $30/month and give you pretty much unlimited recording space and a user interface that isn't 30 years old. Requires a PC to run the show though. Tivo is another good option.
