Hitron USB port?

Hey, I was wondering why the USB port on he side of the Hitron CGN2 doesn't work?

It's for file sharing if you plug a usb in there right?

When I called Rogers, they said that it was just for plugging a printer in there and that it is disabled and can't be re-enabled, but we all know that Rogers doesn't always like to tell the truth.

So, what is the port really for, and how can I get Rogers to activate it?

Its for attaching a USB hard drive so all computers on the LAN can access the hard drive. Rogers has disabled this feature as you already know, but you can try this.

First make sure its not in bridge mode, as this probably won't work in bridge mode. Then call rogers ask them to login to your modem as MSO admin, then ask the rep to go into Status --> Capability and from there enable USB option. Then ask the rep to save/reboot the modem, but NOT reset.

If the rep refuses to do this then try a different rep or maybe tech support; either way its disabled by rogers and only MSO admin can enable it.
