Re: IP Adress Changed - places me in another State
Sounds like they might be switching you guys to the Cisco BAC system. Pinellas went through it back in December and it was somewhat a nightmare for the first 2 weeks or so.. A lot of customers with routers were having problems.. They would loose connection every 30 seconds or so.. What seemed to resolve the issue was to leave the modem and router unplugged for a couple hours or even over night and plug it back in so it would get another new IP address and then it seemed to be fine... Another trick was to just bypass the router for the time being and plug your computer straight into the modem.. That would at least get you online for the time being..
But good luck with it. And everything should clear up in the next couple days. Its just a step in progress.. Like you guys mentioned its something knology probably should have done a while ago but they waited to long..
In case you wondering what the Cisco BAC is. Its has to do with how the modems are provisioned into the system. And its suppose to be more secure and quicker. Specially for the techs. They can pop a modem on the line and it comes online a lot faster then the older system.. That's about all I know about it.
