[WIN8] SSD's and chkdsk

What can I run on my SSD?
I use Optimize once every 2 weeks (Intel SSD Toolbox),
and am I still allowed to run chkdsk?

chkdsk's primary job is to check for file system structural integrity (whether the stuff the file system wrote on the disk still looks like a self-consistent file system) and as such is independent of the medium on which the file system is stored.

The file system can go bad through improper shutdown, software bugs, etc., none of which SSDs can prevent.

On the other hand, chkdsk /r seems mostly superfluous to me.

Check and repair bad sectors? Yeah you would think that is only for HDD's.
