Re: [Need Info] Any DOCSIS 3.0 modems?

The Motorola 6120, 6121, and 6141 will work with RCN. I can't speak for the SB6180 though. The Cisco DPC3000 series modems will work as well.

As far as I know, the 6141 and 6180 are identical in that they do 8x4 vs 4x4 with the 6121. And that the 6141 is newer.

If you have the choice between going with a modem that does 8x4 over 4x4, go with the 8x4 any day.

RCN doesn't even have a plan that supports 8x4 do they?

RCN doesn't currently use 8x4 at the moment. They use 4x1, but it helps to future proof yourself, no?

Yes it does. Sometimes. Many times it seems that by the time the future catches up I go out and buy newer and better anyway. So the future never catches up and you waste money but have cool stuff As a personal preference now, I don't do it as much, but understand those who do.
