Previously, only 1 UpStream channel was enabled. What does this mean? To directly answer your question, it (channel bonding) means less chance of congestion at local nodes during peak periods.

It hasn't made any difference to downloads/uploads; everything is working fine, it seems.
I simply wondered if the additional US channels was a precursor to getting 10Mbit upload.
Teddy_Boom mentioned this is a bad thing to have happened.

Probably the same deal as when they used to run 3 down and 1 up. They're probably not lighting up the fourth upstream channel until the traffic demand is there.
There are nodes in central St. Cats still running 3 down and 1 up, too. |
