Not interested in immersion. Are you guys playing this on a regular basis? PoE is pretty hit or miss for people being online from here and WoW is B O R I N G.
It's simple enough to drop into a game with a trial mech and get to work. Once you accumulate currency (by playing games), you can unlock your own mech. I'd recommend sitting on that currency until you know what you want.
It's difficult to master, though, as you start to get into deep loadouts, multiple mechs, talents, strategy, etc.
It's taken me a while to really nail down one of the cheesiest setups in the game. I play the most dangerous and most vulnerable of all mechs. I can lay out the most damage at the furthest range with homing missiles, I'm dead if someone gets in close range.
On an average game, if you can put out 250 damage, you've contributed to your game pretty well. If you've put out 400-500, you've done fantastic.
I've had a handful of 1200+ damage games now on my missile boat. On the flipside, I've had several 0-damage games when I can't get a safe spot to launch room and get flanked by an ECM light mech who spends the next 60 seconds taking me down.
I wonder if I should re-download it now that things have been fixed somewhat. Tempted to see if my old MW3/MW4 arena tactics will work on real people. I would win those matches without a single scratch in a light/medium mech.
I would just pack my mech with nothing but small and medium lasers, barely any heatsinks or anything else. Just max amount of lasers and max engine... then I would run up to someone, hit them with everything I have (death to light, cripple the mediums and some serious damage to heavies) and then run away. My heat would go to max in a single second and take quite some time to dissipate... but I needed that time to run away anyway. By the time I turn around, I was back to zero heat.
You can't say that to the #1 Diablo 3 fan. The guy is saving up all his pennies to buy the new PS4 so he can play the biggest disappointment of last year on the console.
