HughesNet Has a Great Fourth Quarter

HughesNet has released some information about their 4th Quarter. According to the CEO of Echostar, their Gen 4 service has been very successful. They added an additional 43,000 subscribers for the quarter, bringing their total up to 659,000. In part because of faster speeds and "significantly increased data download allowances of up to 40 gigabytes per month." They are quite pleased with the performance of their service.

Something tells me many here do not agree.

Two wrongs make a right? :P

I dunno 40GB can be achieved on my HN9000 system (that just recently got an imaginary update) just fine.

While I bet the performance is probably amazing compared to the old painful systems it's still far from an incredible connection.

The only way you will get 40GB on your HN9000 is to try and achive it during the free download time. That plan will never be given to the 9000 users, I believe it will be 10/10.

Not on the Gen4ers yeah, but I have my Download zone and use a couple a GBs a night most of the time, it wouldn't take too much effort to pull 40GB in a month and I believe I've done more a couple of times even on the slower 2.5mbps speeds.

I remember when I was on my 9000 unit I could, if I tried, would get ~60GB down per month, but that was squeezing every ounce out of it when it was letting me get almost 3Mbps.
