I am in the same boat as you.
Also in Elmhurst. You are not alone.
I've called RCN and run speedtest multiple times which shows my speeds nowhere close to being where they should be. Three tickets submitted by tech support and all came back telling me that there is nothing wrong with their network...
I'm not sure what to do either.
