New Laptop model question

Hey Fellow BBR folks! I have a question for you. I got a new laptop recently, and because i was in extreme desperation to replace the old barely running laptop, I bought the new one at Best Buy. Now here in where I am getting either lost or I am 100% right on track, just looking for someone to confirm. I bought a Toshiba Satellite P875-S7102. Now Best Buy offers 30 day price match guarantee, however, I can not find this laptop anywhere except on Best Buy. So, my thinking is that laptop was perhaps built and sold for Best Buy only? I have run across some other equipment that was solely built for Best Buy such as my Pioneer 50in Plasma PDP-5071PU. This model number for this TV indicated it is for sale strictly at Best Buy. My thinking is that this is the same issue here where as the laptop (this model anyway) was build and distributed just for Best Buy. To me, if that is the case, then they are more or less grabbing one by their manhood because their would be no way to price match since no one else would be able to carry it. Should this be the case is their anyway to prove and or work around somehow?

Thanks!

You just need to find a laptop of the P875 series that has the same hardware maybe, but it does seems a best buy computer.

A LOT of retailers/manufactuers do this - Sears, JCPenny, WalMart, etc... In the cases where the retailer will match if it is the same model - they change the model numbers to prevent price matching.

Seems like a great one for someone to do a class action on.

Toshiba's website says it's exclusive to Best Buy.

Derivative models have been in retailers' stores for decades/

Standard practice for price protection.
