 | A trick that lowered Cableble Attenuation Just a tip for anyone having Signal loss trouble. for a wial i was having to go out and clean the ground once a week. I would see 6-7 cable att. I cleaned both ground ends again but this time i put Bulb grease on the ground ends. now i am sitting at 0 Cable Att.
Rx Power: -40.8 dBm Rx SNR: 12.0 dB Cable Resistance: 0.5 Ohms Cable Attenuation 0.0 dB Tx IF Power: -34.0dBm Tx RF Power: 20.3dBm
I figured this out by trying it. So i am sharing what learned. |

Doesn't stop YOU from fixing it correctly. Corroded connectors are hard to clean, so the best solution is to replace the outdoor connectors with quality 3 GHz compression-type. Snap-n-Seal is a good brand. Avoid the push-on or crimp on, they'll start corroding again from Day 1. After installing new connectors, apply the dielectric grease. Reconnect cables. Finally, apply the self-fusing tape or heat shrink. At this point, maximum protection can be achieved by covering both male and female connectors with one continuous length of tape or heat shrink.
