LinklistPremium join:2002-03-03 Longport, NJ kudos:5 | Google Glass has some major privacy and legal issues Everyone is in a big "this is great" lather over Google Glasses. Google, as usual, is starting the big marketing push to make them the next big thing. But even more than smartphones with video, these Google Glasses open up a whole raft of privacy issues where they can be taking video of people unawares that is being done. Especially in areas like restrooms, lockerooms and store changing areas.
After I retired, I worked part time at an entertainent old steam railroad venue. Part of my job was catching the perverts that tried to use cameras in rest rooms and turn them over to the cops. Now tell me how you catch someone wearing glasses that can take online video at will.

| Like most things these days the "cool factor" overrides any security/privacy concerns.
I have no doubt that Google Glasses will be popular--especially with the young (and mostly ignorant). -- Don't feed trolls--it only makes them grow! |

BTW I have a pair of Foster Grant reading glasses. I'll sell them to you for $990. They may not do what Google Glasses do but at least you'll be able to see. |

it's no different than a video camera........when you see someone leaning over looking at your junk, take normal action
i fail to see how google glass is a privacy concern in any way shape or form......you can buy a video camera smaller than the glasses if you wanted to i am sure |

my point is, if someone is going to be a pervert, they are going to be a pervert, you can't bring more laws, and ban products just because of that fact
like i said, mine as well ban cameras and video cameras as they have the possibility to be misused aswell |

True but photographers and videographers often have to get signed release forms to publicly show your image. In this day and age any moron with a Smartphone (and soon Google Glasses) can record video and upload it to Ewetoob without your knowledge or consent. Maybe you're ok with that but I'm not. -- Don't feed trolls--it only makes them grow! |

not sure on the quality of this website, but it does agree with what i am 90% sure is the law
the important part is bolded here ''You need a model release'', which is what you are speaking about i believe
ultimately my point is, you have an issue with video cameras/cameras, not google glass |
