In summer of 2010 the lower right lobe of my lung was removed to get a small cancer spot. There were good follow-up blood tests and CT scans every 3 months for 2 years, then I went to a 6 month interval between tests. This time, AFP & CEA tumor markers were mildly elevated. I had PET and CT scans Wednesday. A lymph node in the center of my chest "lit up." Next step is seeing a cardiothoracic surgeon for evaluation. I have no doubt it's cancer again. Even my oncologist admitted, when asked directly, that the other two possibilities (infection or inflammation) aren't expected. I'd be grateful if you folks would put out positive thoughts in your various ways hoping this will be manageable. -- There must be a happy medium somewhere between being totally informed and blissfully unaware. ▪Doug Larson
