[Equipment] External Antenna Clearwire Modem WIXFBR-131

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT IF your looking for an antenna for a Clearwire WIXFBR-131 modem. The ext. antenna port is reversed polarity SM connector about 1/4 in diameter, threaded on the outside with a pin in the center. To connect to this you need a Reverse Polarity Adapter such as WPSAntenna.com's WA-1125. Then any 2.5ghz -2.7ghz antenna will connect using a FME to type N cable.

i suggested to Clear that they carry a few basic antennae for this in the kiosk or stores . Back when i first got Clear (i bought the 131 hub) the salesman in the clear store told me go next door to Radio Shack for the antenna. YEAH right the guy at radio shack had no idea . Trying to order a correct antenna was a search nightmare and could not be found in a brick and mortar store (i hate online ordering when i can't really see the product). Finally about two weeks with the 131 hub i ended up dropping it and broke the connector where power plugs in. Ended up having to replace with the earlier WHITE hub and built a stand by the window for it all has been well ever since. I was thinking of getting another 131 hub as they are giving them away last i knew for under $50 but since the white hub is working i will hold up rather then invest in uncertain clear future .
EDIT: to update the earlier hub was the white WIXFBR-117 which looked like the black hub however lacked an external antenna port however there was a mod to add one in you have google around.
