Help with 2Wire wireless gaming adapter and 2Wire RG

I recently purchased a 2Wire wireless gaming adapter (ethernet) for use with my 2Wire RG because it was inexpensive and I like the build quality of the 2Wire equipment. I did this in anticipation of purchasing an AVR with network capability (I don't have ethernet in that room and only a handful of receivers have wireless built-in at this time). Anyway, after configuring the adapter and it seemingly setting up correctly (»www.server-servers.com/2wire-wir···adapter/) - when I connect it to my laptop with Windows 7 (via ethernet) and turn off the wireless on the laptop (to test it), i get a local area connection failure (local area connection doesn't have a valid IP). I tried some basic things like turning off the firewall and also tried it on an Ubuntu PC. No luck. I am probably missing something basic - any ideas?

Solved. I had the security set to WEP. I don't know how I missed that the first time. When I changed it to WPA-PSK it started working just fine. Very good speeds and no drops (so far).
