I said to try OTA combined with satellite to get the locals he's missing from sat providers. He never responded to that idea. Dish makes ATSC tuner modules for their DVRs so you can get a combined local OTA and Dish line-up through one box.
So if DirecTV is having a carriage dispute with a local, then why not go Dish Network? They aren't having a dispute AFAIK.
And as you said, it's the Sinclair owned locals, not any of the national channels that are in dispute right now, so I have no idea why he keeps lumping AMC into this. And going OTA, reception permitting, would solve any issues of his locals ever being not carried by a sat provider. |

DISH isn't...at least right now; although they do have their share of catfights w/local stations. Either way, these catfights occur for a given local market infrequently, so it's not something to be overly concerned with.
And BTW, Sinclair & DirecTV resolved their fight yesterday, so all those locals are staying up.  |

 | wonder how long until sinclair ruins my local nbc they just bought from cox media? I'd imagine me tv is probably gone in favor of another channel (maybe a news channel). I'm just worried about the retrans fees going up for comcast and other companies. |

 | reply to Gemologist Amazing they came out and fixed the TV issues. Yet ANOTHER bad box! This makes like 12 or so now! Plus line was crap AGAIN.
Now two weeks later the TV is glitching again here and there and now internet is dropped down to 5-6M down and 1-2M up and we have the fastest package. -- Images are Copyrighted and use is NOT permitted. |
