Who keeps a car that long? 100k? Never in my right mind would I keep one that long. 3 years max, that usually gets me to 15K-25k. even at 15K a year that is only 45k

You have got to be kidding, you must not be American. My 97 Suburban has 191K on it. I bought it with about 186K on it a year ago. It runs very strong and the maintenance is not that bad.

My wife's 2010 Caravan has 46K on it already.

A car can last into the 200,000 mile range if properly maintenanced throughout its life. Sounds like you live on leases.
