 | [MO] Columbia MO, I think we just died :( Seems mediacom is down in a couple different areas according to a couple of my friends, and mine being down.
Seems more serious than normal since we all live fairly far apart. Anyone know anything? |

 | Yeah out since 10;20 ticked off. |

 | reply to Dmnchild Yep, we also have no service! Hopefully it won't last through the whole storm |

 | Makes work from home hard given 10--14 inches of snow forecast. My cable was my ace in the hole. |

| reply to Dmnchild When I posted it was barely a few flurries, so I dont think its snow related. I just hope its fixed before it cant be fixed if the snow can prevent it :P

SpurgePremium,VIP join:2002-01-04 Columbia, MO | reply to Dmnchild I have confirmation that there is damaged fiber down around Camdenton Mo, no ETA of repair. Repair crews are in route, they are reporting 1 inch of ice under 6 inches of snow. The company we lease fiber from in that area was reporting multiple open fiber circuits and they are working to get it repaired. |

 | reply to Dmnchild I have to agree. These repeated outtages are getting old. My last service was Att DSL and over a period of 8 years it went down 2 times. Since moving to Columbia last July Ive had 6 outtages in 8 months that last for many hours.
In addition, our Mediacom cable suffers from frequent box reboots, lockups, picture pixelations with movement and frequently that dreaded DVR service currently not available message. Chad, you great at what you do and I'm not blaming you, but the quality of Mediacom's products are very poor in my opinion. If my apartment complex gave me any other options and wasn't included with a discount in my lease, I'd be long gone from Mediacom. |

 | reply to Spurge It would be nice if we had some updates. It really irks me that companies don't share this kind of information, just send Randy out to fix your fiber line after a night of drinking. Where is the professionalism? |

There was a fiber cut somewhere between Columbia and Jefferson City MO. This is impacting services on both of those cities as well as Morgantown, KY. Unfortunately I have not received an estimated repair time. If I do get any more information about this, I will pass it along to everyone.
Thank you for your patience and I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. -- MediacomChad Mediacom Social Media Relations Team »mediacomcable.com/CustomerSupport/ |

 | I had phoned the Mediacom number a short time ago. The recording said customers in Camdenton, JC, and Columbia had an estimated time of service restoration of 1 p.m. I appreciate Chad keeping us informed, but what I'd really appreciate is an ISP with countless thousands of customers in these communities having more than one Internet uplink so that a fiber cut in a single location would only impact performance, not completely take down service. Doing that is not rocket science, and goodness knows we pay enough to expect it. The Internet is a utility now. Having outages lasting more than 12 hours is unacceptable. How many people needed it last night and today due to the storms, and are without it? Sad. |

 | reply to MediacomChad Thanks Chad, you always deliver! If there were only more of you to make your job less daunting, dealing with us and all. |

I know we do have redundant paths in place to the majority of our headends. We are working to have these redundancies in place for the rest of our network in the near future. |
|
 | reply to Dmnchild hope you get service restored soon. |

 | reply to Dmnchild Oh the pain and agony... Whole day off work and no Internet. Please tell me this is almost resolved?! |
