 | [Help] Java SE version 7 update15 Running Windows 7 Pro x64. I have Java (yes, I know, but I need it for a couple of programs I run; if it wasn't for those I'd just get rid of the annoying thing). I was running 6 update 39 and kept getting update messages. I tried turning off auto updates and it refused. I would go to the Java control panel, update tab, uncheck "Check for updates automatically" and then when the pop-up boldly shouted "You have chosen to stop automatically checking for updates and will miss future security updates", I would click the button that says "Do Not Check". I then hit "Apply" and "OK" and the next time I bring up the Java control panel, the box is f*%^$ng checked again.
I then decided, what the hell, I'll update to version 7 update 15 and try again. Exactly the same thing happens. It refuses to turn off.
How does one turn it off and have it accept the fact? TIA, |

 | There is a Windows 7 service called SunJavaUpdateSched that is normally started from "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Java\Java Update\jusched.exe" I disabled it in the automatic startup list with CCLEANER tools. |

 | Thanks. Found it and disabled it with CCleaner as well. |
|
 | You have to run it as a administrator. |
