Due to the gradual disappearance of the differences that resulted in five separate AT&T forums, the site has opened this new combined AT&T forum which reflects AT&T's status as a leading national telco. Current, ongoing topics will gradually be moved to this new AT&T DSL forum.

I take it that whoever decided to combine the various AT&T DSL fora isn't familiar with the still remaining structural differences of ADSL implementation, ATM transport, and authentication within the former AT&T regions.
This ought to work out well.

| I knew this was coming. 
There has been a discussion of combining forums for some time, since it has been quite a while since the re-growth of AT&T. The push to combine was also made by the AT&T techs here who thought it was time to do so and make it easier for them to help others. AT&T Direct is one combined forum for all the different entities. In terms of the differences in regions, we can accommodate them here through the subject list people can use when they start a topic. Ultimately, I think it will benefit people to be able to see what is happening with AT&T all in one place.

This ought to work out well.
It won't matter much anyway. As AT&T is getting rid of the ATM infrastructure. The more IPDSLAMs they convert the more less regional it will become. For instance technically my DSL is In ameritech or AT&T north or whatever you want to call it. As of october of this year I will be Uverse internet. Since Uverse isn't regionalistic it won't matter.
Some people's posts were sitting unanswered for days on end, then they would post in direct after getting no answers.
ironically the DSL provisioned in pacbell, is provisioned the same as it is in ameritech, swbt, and snet. From what I understand or heard bellsouth will be converted to match the standard as well.
