kdubb join:2006-04-27 Nixa, MO | What does everyone use for large file download tests? My tech told me to use World of tanks and download the 4gb game. That is always fast. I have 30mb and i can usually pull right at that or better. However, pretty much any other download (such as Server 2008R2 SP1 from MS, Itunes trailers, thinkbroadband, etc) are usually very slow. Even when i run them all at once I still can't get the same as world of tanks. I can replicate this. |

 | Bunches of linux repos are up to the task, eve online, wot... pretty much anything well known. MS has been having some speed issues for me here the last few days though. Not sure what's up there. |

 | reply to kdubb WOT/EVE downloads are off-net to Suddenlink and are known to be very fast servers which help us prove our network. They are also far more reliable and accurate than speedtest servers.
There is nothing with the node or cable modem that will allow customers to get their speeds to some servers but not others. Usually, the problem is beyond the Suddenlink network and our control if those specific symptoms occur.
I have personally been able to get over 900mb+ using those two examples on a Gig connection. |

 | Would you rent me out 10 megs upload of that gig connection? Pretty please! |

 | reply to kdubb Multiple dl threads with Usenet service(s) that route traffic based on the my location or from a source I define. Have always been able to max my connection speeds & check the consistency of my service using this method. |
