How eager is Verizon to force people from DSL to FiOS?
I read this thread from last year about how Verizon offered a guy a price way below any of the advertised FiOS services to get him to switch. Has anyone else received offers like this?
This month, Verizon came to my apartment complex and wired all the apartments for FiOS (no boxes/equipment, just cables). They left the copper in place.
I'm not a very heavy user and am mostly content with my 3mb DSL connection for $30/month, so I'm not really inclined to switch unless either I'm forced to or I get a sweetheart deal.
The lady upstairs had Verizon DSL for years. About a year ago they offered her phone and FiOS internet for the same price she was paying for DSL. They really want to get rid of the copper.
Mets, Cowboys, Devils
That happened to me also, I was getting .75 Mb/s down and .37 Mb/s up with DSL - ~32/ month & minimal phone plan.
For only $2 more per month for the first year; I got FIOS phone and internet (plan delivers consistent 4.5 / 4.2 Mb/s)
The year was recently up so my $5/month bundle expired; I now pay ~ 39/month.
