| reply to reddawn73 said by reddawn73:If so many people are having issues in Iowa (cedar rapids here) is it Mediacom issue? Or do I have to set my router to different nber? Yes it's an MC issue with their DNS. So just change it to another DNS server and the issue is fixed. |

 | reply to diggerg56 said by diggerg56:I have to admit, I didn't know it was even possible to steer around dns issues. I have used 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (Opendns) for years. I have also used Mediacom DNS. I have seen little to any difference.
Since it is very easy to switch between different DNS's in the router, if I am having any kind of trouble getting to a website I merely switch the DNS. I am using Opendns right now. |

 | reply to CappinHoff Glad I checked in here, as I wouldn't have been brave enough to try changing my DNS numbers otherwise. I've done it now, though (only on my MacBookPro, not the router - I hate messing with that thing) and it worked a treat. I used the Level 3 numbers that I found on this really handy list:

 | When I couldn't get on the net and windows said the DNS server wasn't responding I went into the network settings and put in google's DNS of 8.8.8.8 and everything started working again. I felt so smart. |
