[Internet] Port Forwarding

I want to port forward my router for a game I play but I don't know how to anymore. I recently had AT&T which I could port forward and it worked but then we switched to Bright House. We also got an Extension to extend our wifi. I'm on my laptop connected to the extension. Does anyone know how to port forward it?

I have the NETGEAR WN3000RP

Anonymous27 did BHN give you a Modem/Router/wifi combo unit ? If they did I would request bridge mode. If you are using your own router pay special attention to DMZ and local IP of the device that needs the port open. Either DMZ or Port forward should be in your netgear router settings. For Example you need port 1221 Open for a connection on your laptop, example maybe your local IP for laptop is 192.168.1.36 well go into router settings look for port forwarding and put 1221 in the UDP TCP for the local ip example 192.168.1.36 . If you cant find that look for DMZ and slap 192.168.1.36(example) into DMZ it will open all ports to your laptop.
